  • CAPUMA, CCA, CSB Sponsor Team to Compete in New Orleans Case Competition

This year, CAPUMA, Capilano School of Business (CSB), and Capilano Case Association (CCA) are sponsoring a select group of Capilano University students to compete in the annual AMA (American Marketing Association) case competition hosted in New Orleans. This year the case competition’s title sponsor is the Hershey’s Company, and focuses on Hershey’s new product called the Ice Breakers Cool Blasts Chews. This year case teams have been asked to create a comprehensive marketing campaign for this product in its second year of production, submitting a written case report and, if selected in the top 10 case teams, will present their findings at the Collegiate Chapter Conference in New Orleans on March 2016. In preparation for this internationally recognized event, CAPUMA, the CCA, and the CSB are hosting an internal case competition, where Capilano students will compete against one another on different cases relating to the Hershey’s case. This will act as part of the research phase for the AMA case and will also act as the selection process in building a team for the large scale AMA Case. The students who are invited to be on the AMA case team (4 members) will have their airfare and accommodation PAID for by the university to attend the New Orleans Collegiate Chapter Conference in March 2015. Attendance at the Collegiate Chapter Conference will happen whether or not the team’s written submission is selected as one of the top 10! These AMA case participants can also put all this hard work to good use by getting a self-directed study credit in either BADM 206, 306, or 406.
