  • SMALL CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD

    In the amidst of everything that has been recently happening, some great news for the team are here. CAPUMA while competing against 350+ collegiate chapters has been able to receive several awards since Sep 2019. Once again the team has been able to see what they are capable of achieving. From a team of 3 people to a team of 22. The first award which was recently given by the AMA to CAPUMA was Small Chapter of the Year Award in recognition for its dedication and quality work The Case Competition Team was able to achieve the position of semi-finalist There were three CAPUMA semifinalists in the Outbound Sales Competition Second place in Faculty Market Place Simulation 5. First place in SABRE competition, first place in Mini Case Competition and second place in Market Simulation at the British Columbia Marketing Association (BCITMA) Regional Conference In the photo (CAPUMA Management team) left to right.     March 9, 2020 To: American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference After assessing our travel plans to attend the American Marketing Association’s International Collegiate Conference with our university administration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our attendance at this conference in light of the changing landscape with COVID-19.   • Getting Your Foot at the Door - SPRING ALUMNI 2020

    Last Thursday students were able to learn invaluable tips into how to get their foot at the door before and after graduation. From never giving up on the search of your dream job, to never stop learning and the importance of self teaching market-needed skills. This was an specially great event because Charlene Hills, current Chair of Capilano University School of Business decided to once again show her support for CAPUMA and giving a brief speech about accomplishing CapU School of business goals and the importance of getting involved.   • CAPUMA Presents: 2020-2021 CAPUMA BOOTCAMP

    Hello to all students of Capilano University. The Capilano University Marketing Association would to invite you to our boot camp for next years AMA 2021 Case Team! The boot camp will be taking place on February 27th, at Capilano University in Cedar 136, from 11:30-12:30. Every year, the American Marketing Association hosts an International Collegiate Case event, in which students are tasked with crafting a marketing plan to help resolve a real life business problem, and have to present their findings and solution in the AMA International Collegiate Conference event in New Orleans. Along with the opportunity to work on a strategy for the business problem and attending the AMAICC, you'll also be eligible to earn six credits towards your degree! Current members of CAPUMA, along with others attending this years AMAICC, will be present in the boot camp to talk more about the AMA Case challenge, the International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, and their own involvement with CAPUMA. Attending the AMAICC in New Orleans is a great opportunity to network with fellow peers, and to learn from prominent marketing specialist throughout the industry.   • CAPUMA Presents: Annual Spring Alumni Event - Getting Your Foot at The Door

    We are happy to announce that our annual Spring Alumni Events will be taking place on Thursday, March 5th at the Pinnacle Hotel in North Vancouver at 5pm. This event gives current students an opportunity to network with fellow CapU Alumni, to help prepare for the marketing industry after graduation.   • Legal Marketing Association Panel (CAPUMA / BCITMA / UBCMA / SFUMA)

    The CAPUMA team had a great time assisting to an incredible panel by LMA (Legal Marketing Association) at Blakes Legal Group. It was the first event when CAPUMA alongside SFUMA (SFU Marketing Association), UBCMA (UBC Marketing Association) and BCITMA (BCIT Marketing Association) participated in an event together.   • CAPUMA Volunteers at the 2019 Marketer of the Year Event

    Thursday evening's 2019 Marketer of the Year Event was a memorable one, for a few of the CAPUMA members, whom volunteered with the event put on by the BCAMA . The 2019 Marketer of the Year Event highlights achievements and ideas from various companies and figures within the marketing industry in British Columbia. Prominent individuals, whom have a significant influence in B.C.'s marketing industry, as well as various members of the American Marketing Association, came to attend this annual event at the Westin Bayshore. More importantly, the event commemorated BC Hydro, winning the Marketer of the Year Award. This distinction was the result of a successful marketing campaign with an emphasis of being power smart. The CAPUMA team not only volunteered the event, but also attended the acceptance speech by the various representatives of BC Hydro.

  • AMAICC 2018, Bringing Home Awards & Recognition

    Our New Orleans Team This Year from Left to Right: (Madison Heidema, Rochelle Leblanc, Ludwig Coleman, Ileana O’Keefe, Andrea Eby, Lexi Wuthrich, Hamzah Elhassani, Rosemary Preckel & Raymond Lam) Congrats to our team for their wins at the 2018 American Marketing Association’s International Collegiate Conference from April 5th-7th!–Joining over 1,300 marketing students from across North America, this year was CAPUMA’s fourth year as part of the AMA, and what better way to celebrate this then winning 3 awards! Being one of the smaller chapters within the AMA, these accomplishments are no small feat, with the Case-Team alone spending over an entire term preparing for their case competition! This year the case-team (Rochelle Leblanc, Lexi Wuthrich, Rosemary Preckel, Madison Heidema) took 3rd Place out of 103 schools for the Case Competition sponsored by Mary Kay Cosmetics to continue to demonstrate CAPUMA’s ability to perform on an International Level! Our marketing strategy team (Ileana O’Keefe & Ludwig Coleman) took honourable mention for 6th place out of 99 teams demonstrating even a team of two can represent! Finally, CAPUMA as a whole won an Honourable Mention for Outstanding Marketing Week showing CAPUMA is still growing and achieving year-on-year!   • Krispy Kreme Fundraiser For New Orleans

    With the AMAICC approaching soon, CAPUMA is hosting a Krispy Kreme FUNdraiser to generate funds to help some of its members cover their plane and entry tickets to the conference. The fundraiser will be taking place on Sunday, March 18th at the City Market – Loblaws on Lonsdale and East 17th Street You can also fill out this form to have fresh doughnuts delivered to your home or office on the same day!
